Julienne Vinson

Julienne leads talent development and culture stewardship efforts and is responsible for developing strategies to ensure alignment of organizational culture, performance, leadership, reputation, systems, and processes.

Education is Julienne’s life’s work! She firmly believes that we have a choice to change the world, and she stands firm in her decision to fight for educational equity in access and quality daily for the students in Washington, DC.

Julienne has had a 10-year career in teaching, leading, and supporting schools in the metropolitan area. Prior to joining Flamboyan, she taught at the 3rd, 2nd, and 1st grade at an all-girls charter school in Washington, DC. Additionally, she served as a Director, Operations for the Office of Talent and Culture with DC Public Schools. Most recently, she served as a Chief of Staff to the Chief of Schools with Baltimore City Public Schools. In that role, Julienne helped Baltimore City Public Schools develop a continuity of learning plan during the COVID-19 pandemic. She was also a 2010 Teach for America Corp Member in Washington, DC. She ensures that she is leading and collaborating with colleagues with kindness because this work is hard yet necessary, and she believes it’s easier when we can all smile.

Julienne is a mother, wife, sister, and friend. She enjoys traveling, spending time near a beach (specifically the Caribbean) or pool, loves to create experiences for her children and their friends, and lastly, she can assure you that she is the biggest Beyonce fan ever.

My favorite teacher in school was… Ms. English, my ninth grade biology teacher, and advisor. She was tough yet caring and gave a young Black girl at a predominately white school the support that was needed.
